Not sure what I have done differently than others - other than the fact that once I got to Europe and turned on the 1370 I was not moving at the time and gave the instrument time to find its location, from then on it worked GREAT. There were a couple of times that it kinda got lost in Hungary for a second but it quickly got back on track. There was an accident in Hungary about a half hour before we got to an intersection and the Nuvi already knew about it and rerouted us - in short we were in Vienna, Budapest and Warsaw and the Nuvi 1370 worked great. I wish it had the routing option for multiple locations but it seemed to be able to find any waypoint we put in so all we had to do was just ask it to go to the next way point and that solved that problem. The traffic thing did not work in Poland - assume that it is not available there but it worked great in Austria and Hungary.
Since I do not speak Hungarian or German (I do speak Polish and Russian) the investment in the Nuvi was WELL worth it for the three weeks we were in Europe - I do not know what we would have done without it - it was a big help in both Budapest and Warsaw finding the rental car locations to return the car - I mean finding the airport was a snap but they have been hidin those rental car places lately!!!

Know the Lane Before It's Too Late

Lane assist guides you to the correct lane for an approaching turn or exit, making unfamiliar intersections and exits easy to navigate. Keep track of yourself and your car with nüvi 1370T. Just tap "Where Am I?" to find the closest hospitals, police stations, fuel stations, nearest address, and intersection. Also see your exact latitude and longitude coordinates. The nüvi 1370T even remembers where you parked. It automatically marks your position when you remove it from the windshield mount, so you can navigate with nüvi on foot and find your way back to your vehicle. HotFix Satellite Prediction
Garmin's HotFix capability automatically calculates and stores satellite locations, greatly reducing satellite acquisition time so that you can turn the unit on and get going. With HotFix, your nüvi remembers the position of all satellites it is tracking when you turn it off, and calculates their movements in order to predict where they should be the next time you turn it on. HotFix can predict satellite positions for up to three days after the device was last turned off.
ecoRoute
With this feature, drivers can view suggestions for fuel-efficient navigation, conserving both money and fuel:
- Save Gas and Money--Now more than ever, we're all looking for ways to conserve both money and fuel. Whether we're taking fewer trips or carpooling with family and friends, saving resources is a top priority. It was that thinking that led to the creation of ecoRoute--Garmin's free software update for compatible nüvi products that allows you to find more fuel-efficient routes when navigating and even track their fuel usage. With ecoRoute, you may be able to save gas and money by adopting smarter driving habits.
- Select Fuel-efficient Routes--With ecoRoute, you have a "less fuel" option as a routing preference. When selected, nüvi will determine if more fuel-efficient routes exist based upon road speed data and vehicle acceleration data for a given route.

I bought this unit to replace a Nuvi 670. If you try to change the battery in a Nuvi 670 be very careful not to break the three ribbon cables that are directly on top of the old battery. On the other hand, if I hadn't broken them I wouldn't have the new model which I like much better than the old one.
The unit seems thinner but more solid. The black case looks nice. The way the holder snaps on is an improvement. The connection for the dc coupler is better. The fact that it doesn't come with the AC adapter is a pain but my old one from the 670 works fine.
The Bluetooth setup works great with the Iphone and transferred my phone book with no issues.
I bought the version with maps of Europe because we travel there on a regular basis. Last year we flew into Manchester, UK, turned on the Nuvi and spent two weeks on the backroads of Northern Scotland and never needed a map.
The only issue I have with Garmin is that this new unit needed map updates which were free but still took about 4 hours to download and install. Not a big deal.
Garmin has also just lowered their price on updates including the lifetime updates program. With a new unit you also get 10% off the new, lower price.
I highly recommend this product.
Great for London Area - David Wallace -
We bought this GPS just before our move to London. We don't drive everyday but it has been great when taking the car out on the weekends. We did the free map update and so far all the one way streets and speed cameras have been spot on. Our only complaint is that when trying to move the map around with your fingers it can be a little touchy.
However we love it and would recommend it to anyone.

Believe it or not, I called Garmin to ask which unit I should buy for my trip to France and Spain. This was their suggestion. First the good points. We were able to choose directions in a multiple of languages. We liked this because the directions matched the signage. We also liked the notification of speed trap cameras on the highway. However, we were exceedingly disappointed with the fact we had to have an exact address for it to operate. We could not put in a town, and have it direct us there.This meant we couldn't aim for a place we'd been told was beautiful and just drive around- like Honfleur, a gorgeous town in Normandy. Without a specific address it was useless. Further, the POI was cumbersome didn't have many must-have sites. The unit could be programmed to give directions in one language, and enter info in another, that appealed. However, we couldn't seem to get it to work well. Maybe using multiple languages was a problem, but they are all options Garmin offers. In the end, we were exceedingly disappointed and frustrated by needing house number, street and even address code (like zip code). Further, this model will not allow multiple addresses, via points. We knew that at the beginning, but it turns out to be a really useful tool. Apparently they are coming out with another model that adds this. Never used bluetooth, never needed traffic so can't comment on these features. We are returning this unit. We had to buy a map and do it the old fashioned way. Loved our first Garmin, very disappointed with this one.
